| Since January 13, 1978, Pickens County has been home. I was born to Ricky and Maxine Keener Roper who reside in the Four Mile Church Community where I grew up. I am married to Leslie McGhee Edge. Leslie is the daughter of Linda Mabry McGhee and the late Sammy McGhee. We have three sons, William & Thomas Roper and Trey Edge. I am the owner and operator of Roper Funeral Home in Jasper. I have been licensed in the State of Georgia as an Embalmer and Funeral Director since 1999. I have eight years experience in the coroner's office. At the Georgia Public Safety Training Center, where I received my coroners certification, I have studied and successfully completed numerous classes pertaining to death scene investigation. I have served on the board of directors for the North East Georgia Chapter of the American Red Cross and Past Master of Blaine Lodge #534. I am also a member of the Yarrab Shrine. Leslie, an LPN, is the practice manager of Internal Medicine Associates and practice manager for Oasis Med Spa. in Jasper for Drs. Anil and Monika Yadav. |
